The only likely birth of a Jane AUSTIN, at about the correct time to be the wife of Henry PLEDGER, is in the village of Thursley, which is not that far from Ripley where Henry married Jane. The parents of this Jane are Edmund and Sarah STOVOLD (as above).
However, Henry PLEDGER was from Aldingbourne in Sussex, and why he came to Ripley is unknown. In the villages near to Aldingbourne, there are many records for families called AUSTIN, but none (that I can find) for the birth of a Jane at about the correct time.
Jane's parentage is therefore in doubt until this can be resolved.
