All records for this family are from Edinburgh.

George LOGAN and Margaret VOLUMN did have a son Robert at about the correct time, however there is no positive proof that these are the correct parents for Robert , who married Jean SIMPSON.

When William married Margaret YOUNG in January 1793, he was an "Officer of Excise". Following Georgina's birth in the following November, there is no further record of either of her parents. When Georgina married (1813), she declared her father (deceased) to have been an "Overseer in Jamaica". However on her death certificate (1873) it states he was a "Gentleman's Servant" (was someone trying to hide the family's involvement in the slave trade?). I am presuming that William died in Jamaica - where there is little hope of finding any records, it is possible that Margaret died there as well, as I cannot find any record in Scotland.
